Birth of Indra according to the Rig Veda:
All four Vedas praise Indra as Deva saṁrāṭ or Monarch of the Devas. Indra was born from Aditi, the mother of all Devas and Ādityas. Aditi was the cosmic mother and was worshipped as the Goddess of Earth. Her name expresses the infinite expanse of the Universe. Though Aditi was usually not associated with a male consort, Ṛg Veda mentions Indra's father as Dyaus, the very personification of mighty heavens and endless expanse of sky. The birth of Indra is described in Ṛg Veda. I

Great achievements of Indra:
Now I shall proclaim the great activities of Indra, the Lord of devas. He killed the indestructible, He cleaved open the waters, He split off the strongholds of mountains. He killed the indestructible Ahi lying over the mountain. Tvaṣtṛ fashioned the sun resembling vajra for Him. Like bellowing milch cows running to their calves he made waters run straight to the ocean, unhindered. As the Mighty armed warrior He chose soma for Himself. He drunk from the three breakers of Soma

A hymn on lord Indra:
O INDRA, Vṛtra-slayer, none is better, mightier than thou: Verily there is none like thee. Like chariot-wheels these people all together follow after thee: Thou ever art renowned as Great. Not even all the gathered Gods conquered thee, Indra, in the war, When thou didst lengthen days by night. When for the sake of those oppressed, and Kutsa as he battled, Thou stolest away the Sun's car-wheel. When, fighting singly, Indra. thou o’ercamest all the furious Gods, thou slewest th

Secret behind the success of any upasana:
Extravagant worship, huge chantings, rituals and big mantras recitations are unimportant and unyielding as long as the seeker has not understood the nada (sound), spanda(vibration/ energy), swaroopa (true form) and praroopa (approachable form) of the mantra & devata. One needs to connect to the devata and mantra mentally and emotionally to achieve it's physical results. Visual contemplation of the mantra, devata and other secret kriyas is very important while chanting. Purit

Moksha in Vaidika and avaidika schools:
In Vedic schools of thought moksha is considered as the highest goal of a living being. The Avaidika schools such as Bauddhas and Jainas also claim moksha/nirvana as their ultimate goal. However between Vaidika and Avaidika schools there exists a subtle difference in attitude towards worldly existence and moksha, the final liberation. Avaidika schools perceive world and what it offers as inherently full of misery ,worthless and shun the world with extreme disgust and repulsio

Why commonly propagated pauranik lore of Ahalya Indra is false ?
Indra is praised as the beloved/lover of Ahalya, but nowhere is Ahalya mentioned in the earlier texts as the wife of Gautama. The funny thing is, Gautama's son Vamadeva has also praised the great Indra throughout the Vedas. The term "Ahalya" means "unploughed", Indra being the God of rain and thunder is seen here as the lover of the unploughed land. Similarly in Rig-Veda he is also referred to as the husband of Seetha; Seetha means "furrow" and Indra being the God of rain is

Namuchi-Vadha by Indra:
The king of gods Indra slew the three-headed son of Tvashtri(the cosmic artificer) named Vishvarupa(aka Trishiras). Seeing his son slain, Tvashtri vowed vengeance and brought Soma(the elixir of the gods) that he had poisoned and refused to invite Indra for his Yajna. Indra drank the Soma by force and the poison weakened him severely, and his vitality flowed out through all of his pores and orifices. At that time Namuchi, the Asura lay hidden and bethought to himself, "He has
