Shatruhanta Skanda prayoga:

Prayogoas for destroying one ̍s enemies play a central role in invocation of Skanda. Indeed that is one of the prime purposes the devatā of war Skanda is invoked in ancient times before his original identity got some what obscured amongst the Saiddhantic traditions in Southern India. It is said by authorities that there were many śatru saṁhāra prayogas in Kaumāra Tantras, out of which most are lost nowadays but fortunately some have survived to this day.

However these paddhatis are mostly transmitted through the specific paraṁparās, orally alone to the desiring qualified śiṣyas. One such yoga can be found in the Tantra text Skandārcana Kalpa druma. Few other not so well known Tantrik texts also refer to this rite.

The basic incantation of the yoga given in the above said texts is known as Brahmaṅya Deva Triśati comprising of three hundred divine names of Lord Skanda Kumāra in a combination with the variations of his Ṣaḍakṣarī mantra.

Some established ārādhakas/sādhakas of Kaumāra line periodically if not daily, use this powerful recitation in their daily worship ceremonies. Few devālayas dedicated to Lord Kumāra Skanda in Southern Bhārata also use this mantra infused triśati in their daily rituals. This can "ONLY" be practiced by those who have recieved initiation or dīkṣā in to the arcane Ṣaḍakṣarī mantras of Lord Kumāra Skanda Para Brahma. Even for the very basic use of this triśati in it ̍s nāma arcanā form, dīkṣā of the above said mantras is an absolute necessity.

Having said that, our readers should understand the specific application of prayogas using this mantra yojta triśati requires a more onerous procedure.

As a warning we would like to inform our female readers that strīs are strictly barred from engaging in these pryogas as their psycho-physical nature would not be able to endure the consequences.

Procedure:

First the kartā should aquire a mūrti of Śrī Skanda Kumāra. Ideally a one which has six faces or Ṣaṇmukhī, according to the Agama authorities. Another option is to aquire a Kumāra Yantra.

* Kartā should observe Brahmacaryā both physically and mentally. Physically by not spilling his vīrya and mentally by not entertaining sexual thoughts etc. By extension this also applies to not engaging in other physically comforting activities and entertainments.

* The kartā should avoid consuming all amedhya padārthas such as meat, fish, alcohol, forbidden vegetables like onion, garlic, leaks etc.

* He should prepare fragrant candied milk offering, sweetened with unrefined suger and ingredients such as saffron, cardomom etc.

*. The ritual should be conducted both in dawn and dusk.

*. Before beginning the rite, the kartā should perform twilight offerings to devatās - Mitra and Varuṇa followed by sahasra japa of Sāvitrī mantra holding his Upavīta for pavitrikarana and adhikara prapti.

*. Kartā should then gather his mind, shunning all the distractions, controlling it and concentrating it on the citriṇī nāḍi within the suṣuṁnā nāḍi. Tracing his way along the citriṇī nāḍi he should locate his svādhiṣṭhāna cakra on the level of his liṅga.

*. Having located his Svādhiṣṭhāna, he should envision and engage in dhyāna of Lord Varuṇa in his blazing dhavala form holding Didyu and noose as his āyudhas with the invocation of "vam̐" bīja.

*. Then the kartā ̍s concentration deepens and from the form of Varuṇa, Lord Viṣṇu will emerge along with his vāhaka - Garuḍa. His form will be of his usual ghana śyāma caturbhuja mūrti holding śaṅkha, cakra, gadā, padma. Kartā worships this Viṣṇu while concentrating on the bindu of vam̐ bīja. He also venerates Garuḍa the gaṇa of Viṣṇu.

*. As his meditation upon svādhiṣṭhāna deepens suddenly devī-Rākiṇī will appear filling the Svādhiṣṭhāna cakra with her form. Rākiṇī will be of the nīlotpala hue, wrapped in śveta vastras. Her face will be delightful to behold, doe like wide eyed, her eyes lined with aṅjana, her forhead marked with large sindhūra tilaka, but with karāla daṁṣtras protruding from the sides of a lips. She will appear holding a shinning khaḍga and shield in her hands.

*. Once her vision appears to the aspirant, then the Ṣaḍ bīja mantra is to be recited and the kartā will start feeling the six fold nature of the cakra and six fold flames that are emanating from the cakra.

*. At this moment the Lord Brahmaṇya-deva Kumāra Skanda will shine forth from the cakra, filling the cakra with His form. Kumāra will appear in a six headed twelve handed form, rakta varṇa, with Devī Śaṣṭhi seated in his lap.

*. Starting from this moment kartā will recite the Kumāra Mūla mantra six hundred thousand times while deeply focusing his mind on Skanda.

*.After the japa is completed 300 āhutīs are offered in agni with the Triśati. Ugra havirdravyas like red chillies, red mustard, salt, black pepper, cloves, black lentil/ gram, black salt and mustard oil are used. The agni invoked is "Krodhagni", the jivha invoked is karali and fire oblations are given in agneya, nairtuya or vayavya jivha depending upon what the aspirant desires as the result i.e. vidveshan, Maran or ucchatan.

*. Then 3 vishesh arghyas of flavored dugdha is offered to Skanda ̍s mūrti while reciting his gāyatrī found in Maitrāyaṇī śruti.

*. Next day the kartā cooks a special dish, sweet in nature compromising of five ingredients, covers the mūrti while reciting the tarpaṇa mantras for Lord Kumāra Skanda and His consort Śaṣṭhi.

*. Then that sweet offered is taken as the prasāda.

Warning - The ādhunika (novice) to the ritual will experience burning sensation after completing the kriyā. Complete control of Svādhiṣṭhāna is a prerequisite.

Thus the kartā will see his śartus and their clans destroyed with the wrath of Kumāra in no time.
