About lord Varaha:
Lord Mahavishnu took the incarnation of Varaha to answer the pitiful prayers of goddess Bhu devi who was under the captivity of Asura king Hiranyaksha, who had in turn hidden her in the garbhodaka ocean. The Lord emerged from the nose of Chaturmukha Bramha in the form of a wild boar. He went straight in search of goddess Bhu devi and found her. After rescuing and re-establishing her in the order of creation he went to the Hiranyaksha demon, who was extremely powerful at that time due to the boon which he received from Bramha. The boon was, that he would not get killed by any of the creatures whose names he would take while receiving the boon. So he named almost all the creatures but forgot to name the wild boar or the Varaha. Hence lord took this incarnation which eventually killed the Asura and established the rule of Dharma and devatas once again.
Therefore, even till today we venerate this extremely valiant avatar of lord Vishnu who rescued bhu devi and reinstated dharma in the universe.  In today's context his sadhana becomes extremely potent to repel the cultist forces who threaten the existence of vaidikas through jihad or satanic rituals.

We bow to the great passionate varaha whose passion for bhu devi is unmatched and copulates with her for 17,000 divine years.
We bow to you oh forever powerful varaha who gives all the pleasures of sansara and incredible mukti in the end to his upasakas and devotees.
We bow to the great resplendent Varaha who lifts the earth plane from garbhodaka ocean and marks the start of shwetavaraha kalpa.

Varaha sadhana or karma khanda:
Varaha has a distinct place in the mantra, yantra, tantra shastras. He's tamasik in nature. He has his own shatkarma practices which also includes great shatru marana prayogas. He is primarily worshipped for wealth, health, fame, marriage, success in career, political victory and divine knowledge.
Lord Varaha has multiple forms mantras viz. Adi Varaha, Yadnya Varaha, Maha Varaha, Bhu Varaha & Laxmi Varaha. All of them give siddhi with puja of Vishnu (Varaha), 4 lakhs japa of the moola mantra, dashansh havan with pure ghee, honey, sugar, barley, charu and red lotuses; tarpan, marjan and bramhan bhojan.  One who does siddhi of Varaha mantra can use it to fulfill all his desires and accomplish any goal in this universe. 
Some common Prayogas:
- After siddhi, meditating on lord varaha and chanting the mantra everyday 108 times fulfills all the desires of the mantrik.
- Anybody who gives 300 oblations into sacred fire with Varaha mantra using samidhas of Indian laburnum, gets all kinds of riches. 
- Everyday offering of 108 oblations with unbroken rice grains using varaha mantra grants prosperity and success to the mantri. 
- When sun is in Leo and it's the day of Shukla Paksha ashtami then one should do 10,000 japa of varaha mantra. It successfully destroys the enemies and obstacles and gives the desired. 
- Offering 1008 oblations with the varaha mantra using pure ghee, honey, sugar, havan samagri, red lotuses for 7 consecutive days, magically gets lot of gold. 
- Anybody who offers 1008 oblations of honey and whole wheat for 7 consecutive days with varaha mantra gets his desired female as wife.
These were some commonly known prayogas of Varaha mantras. But there are rare, secretive and detailed prayogas of different Varaha forms which will be tought to the seeker after they successfully accomplish the respective sadhana.
Like Varaha mantra prayogas we also have his yantra which can be placed in the house after the due puja, sanctification and tantrik consecration rituals. Everyday worship of it also gives desired results. The yantra is very rare and powerful it's called the Bhu-Varaha yantra.
Like this there are vama margi kaula tantrik archana manuals for Varaha which were practiced in ancient Nepal. They have some interesting prayogas of Bhu Varaha which may not be digestible to many of the modern day tantriks devotees. But they're extremely powerful.
Conclusion:
Varaha is an extremely powerful and high level devata who can grant all the purusharthas. So it's very good to worship him. But to get hold of such precious upasana one needs to go through a proper channel and i.e. the guru. Anybody who has been initiated into varaha upasana and does regular practice basically lives the life like a king and finally gets the mukti.
