Shri Rama & Hanuman

Like how Shri Garuda is to lord Vaikunthanatha Vishnu, in the same way Hanuman is for Shri Rama. Whenever lord Rama gets stuck due to his own will and expansion of his Maya in his lilavatara, lord Hanuman is given the charge of eradicating the obstacles. He goes to any limits to achieve the goals of lord Rama without thinking twice, using his own buddhi or backing out. This kind of extreme servitude towards the lord only makes him the acharya of dasya bhakti.

Here is an example of lord Hanuman's extreme servitude towards lord Rama where he puts himself in danger to allow lord Rama to become able in fighting Ravana on an equal footing.

Hanuman asks Lord Rama to ride on his back and confront Ravana in the battlefield

This scene occurs in Yuddha Kanda chapter 59, verse 124&125 of the Valmiki Ramayana.

If you’re wondering how Hanuman can bleed or get injured. There are several incidents where he gets severely wounded.

For example:

In Yuddha Kanda chapter 67, verse 19, 20 and 21

Kumbhakarna strikes Hanuman's chest with his spear making him vomit blood and fall unconscious.

Rama’s attire:

Contrary to popular belief, in the Valmiki Ramayana, Rama was not wearing saffron colored robes while living in the jungle.

He was wearing clothes made out of tree bark and the material is known as bark-cloth.

Rama was also wearing the skin of a black antelope; he used to hunt beasts while living in the jungle for both food and clothing as it is recorded in Ayodhya Kanda chapter 52 and 56 of the Valmiki Ramayana.

He slays fives beasts for food in the ayodhya kanda chapter 52 and 56 they are :

Varaha - wild boar

Rishya - white footed antelope

Prisata - spotted deer

Maharurur - an unknown species of deer

and Black antelope

Rama was wearing gloves fashioned out of the skin of an iguana(a reptile) to protect his fingers while performing archery. These gloves were known as “gaudheya anguli traanu” in sanskrit.

Rama was very muscular as it is recorded in the Ramayana.

He had numerous battle scars all over his body.

He made dreadlocks (matted hair) for him-self with the help of the sap from a banyan tree along with his brother Lakshmana and Nishadha king Guha.
