There are two notions on mestruating women amongst sadhakas. One is in favour and other one is opposing. Both the views are correct in their own places. So one must choose their view as per their guru lineage, nature of sadhak and sadhana.
The ones who are satvik, vaishnav, dakshinmargi, using laddoos and pedhas as food offering should totally abstain from menstruating women, do not eat from their hands and do not indulge with them in any way.
On the other hand those who are practicing kaulachar, Vamachar, aghorachar , having formally been initiated by a competent authority and not self proclaimed; those who are free from sutak-patak, should perform rituals with a menstruating woman with full respect and devotion to get higher merits and success.
Do not ever mix the streams. It will only cause turmoil.
In Hindi there's a saying:
"जिसका काम उसी को छाजै, और करे तो डंडा बाजै"
One should do what is suitable for them and not follow blindly what others are doing to avoid getting in problem.
