Suvarnamatsya a mermaid, was the daughter of Lankesh Ravan, whom he had sent to stop the vanaras from building the stone bridge.
To fulfill her father's wishes Suvarnamatsya along with her mermaid attendants started stealing the stones from the bridge that was being built. But Hanuman finds her and tries to capture her and fails to do so, as she was very quick and slippery. Finally in the pursuit of chasing and running they both fall in love. When Hanuman reveals the truth behind the construction of the bridge, Suvarnamatsya agrees to the request of Hanuman and stops creating hindrances in bridge construction. She also returns the stolen stones.
They are filled with love and compassion for each other. They mate passionately and a son is born from them called Matsyaanu.
This story is from an ancient Thai version of Ramayan. Suvarnamatsya is still venerated and worshipped in Thailand.
