Indra's Help in Accidents:

When the great mystic and poet Vasishtha Ganapati Muni was involved in a bus accident, his son had a fracture in his hand. The Muni uttered the mantra RV (8.1.12) for healing the bone. His son's bones healed quickly.

य ऋ॒ते चि॑दभि॒श्रिषः॑ पु॒रा ज॒त्रुभ्य॑ आ॒तृदः॑ ।

संधा॑ता सं॒धिं म॒घवा॑ पुरू॒वसु॒रिष्क॑र्ता॒ विह्रु॑तं॒ पुनः॑ ॥ ८.००१.१२

ya ṛ̱te ci̍dabhi̱śriṣa̍ḥ pu̱rā ja̱trubhya̍ ā̱tṛda̍ḥ .

saṃdhā̍tā sa̱ṃdhiṃ ma̱ghavā̍ purū̱vasu̱riṣka̍rtā̱ vihru̍ta̱ṃ puna̍ḥ .8.1.12

"The opulent Indra, capable of bringing together, rectifies the broken bone before it starts bleeding without (rte) even the healing materials (abhishrishah).” (8.1.12)

Sayana gives a similar meaning. 'jatru' indicates the crack between the bones. ‘sandhāta sandhim' means joining together; atrda: before bleeding; rte : without.
